Rugged tablets and handheld computers go everywhere their users do: into sunlight, rain, freezers and onto concrete floors. DCL Technologies, Inc. (DCLTEK) supplies the embedded display and touch stack for industrial mobile computing, built for durability, sunlight readability that doesn’t drain the battery, and touch that works with water, gloves and cold.

Questions customers ask
How do you make a tablet readable outdoors without killing battery life?
Brightness alone isn’t enough. Optical bonding and AR coatings cut the reflections that wash out the image, which often allows a lower-brightness backlight with less heat and power draw. Ambient light sensing and dimming save more.
Can you help us move to a MIPI display?
Yes. Many new panels use MIPI DSI. Our free Engineer’s Guide to MIPI DSI integration covers host requirements, board layout and bring-up, and our engineers support the design.
Can you customize a standard panel?
Yes. We commonly modify backlight brightness, FPC length and orientation, interface, cover glass and mounting. Any NRE or tooling is quoted up front.
Will touch work with water on the screen, with gloves, or in the cold?
Yes, when it is tuned for it. We tune PCAP touch to reject water droplets and spray while tracking a wet finger, set sensitivity for the gloves your users wear, and tune for consistent response at the cold end of your operating range, paired with wide-temperature panels.
What sizes of mobile touch panels do you offer?
PCAP touch panels for mobile devices from 2″ to 13″, covering handhelds through rugged tablets, with matching displays in MIPI, eDP and LVDS interfaces.
