Vending is moving from buttons to screens: large-format displays on the front of the door that sell the product, and smaller touch displays built into the machine that guide the customer through their selection. DCL Technologies, Inc. (DCLTEK) supplies the displays and touch panels for both, for indoor and outdoor machines, with US-based engineering support and displays built to run for years without change.

What we supply

Large-format door displays: replacement front-of-door displays and displays mounted on the front of the machine, for indoor and outdoor units.
Built-in touch displays, 4.3″ to 10″: small-form-factor displays and touch panels for the machine’s user interface.
Sunlight-readable displays: high-brightness options with optical bonding and AR coatings for outdoor machines.
PCAP touch: tuned for public use through strengthened cover glass, tolerant of water and gloves.

What we design for

  • Readability indoors and in full sun
  • Heat, solar load and UV on outdoor machines
  • Vandal-resistant cover glass
  • Touch that registers every purchase
  • Documentation to support UL 751 and UL 541 machine certification
  • Long life without changes for large fleets

Large-format door displays

The front of a vending machine is its storefront. Large-format displays on the door show products, branding and promotions, and they have to look right indoors and in full sun:

Replacement and front-mounted displays. Displays that replace the original front-door display, or mount on the front of the machine, for indoor and outdoor units.
Outdoor-ready. High-brightness, sunlight-readable panels with optical bonding and AR coatings, high-clearing-point liquid crystal that resists solar blackout, and UV-stable materials that limit yellowing.
Built for public spaces. Strengthened or tempered cover glass with vandal-resistant options, and IP65 to IP67 front sealing for rain and dust.
Color that sells. Wide-viewing-angle panels and consistent color from lot to lot, so product images and branding look the same on every machine in the fleet.

4.3″ to 10″ built-in displays and the standards behind them

Inside the machine, a small touch display often guides the customer through their selection. Vending machine makers need that display and touch panel to support the standards their machines are built and certified to:

UL 751 and UL 541 machine safety. Vending machines are certified to UL 751, or UL 541 for refrigerated models. We provide display and touch panel specifications, materials information and component documentation to support your machine’s certification.
IP and impact ratings. Front sealing to IP65, IP66 or IP67 (IEC 60529) and impact ratings in the IK08 to IK10 range (IEC 62262), depending on design, for machines in public and outdoor locations.
Accessibility. Wide-viewing-angle panels keep the screen readable from both standing and seated positions, supporting your machine’s ADA accessibility design.
RoHS and REACH. Compliance documentation for every display and touch panel we supply.
The interface your machine needs. Displays are available with custom interface boards built to your machine’s requirements, or with standard HDMI or LVDS video and USB touch for machines run by an Android or Windows controller.
Touch that completes the selection. PCAP touch tuned for public use through cover glass, in 4.3″ to 10″ sizes including popular 4.3″, 7″, 8″ and 10″ models, with the interface your controller board supports.

Questions customers ask

Do you supply replacement front-door displays for vending machines?

Yes. DCLTEK supplies large-format displays that replace the front door display on vending machines, as well as displays mounted on the front of the machine, for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Can your vending displays be used outdoors?

Yes. Outdoor vending displays use high-brightness, sunlight-readable panels with optical bonding and AR coatings, high-clearing-point liquid crystal to resist solar blackout, UV-stable materials, vandal-resistant cover glass and IP-rated front sealing.

What standards matter for vending machine displays and touch panels?

Vending machines are certified to UL 751, or UL 541 for refrigerated models, so the display and touch panel need documentation that supports that certification. Machines in public and outdoor locations also call for IP-rated front sealing (IEC 60529) and impact ratings (IEC 62262), along with RoHS and REACH compliance. DCLTEK supplies the specifications and documentation for all of these.

What sizes do you offer for built-in vending touch displays?

Built-in vending touch displays range from 4.3″ to 10″, including popular 4.3″, 7″, 8″ and 10″ sizes, with PCAP touch and the interfaces your controller board supports.

How long will a vending display stay available without changes?

DCLTEK designs for a minimum of 3 to 5 years without change, and many products run longer. Nothing changes without your written approval, and we typically have 4 to 6 months’ notice of an end-of-life to plan a last-time buy or replacement.

Can you supply a display with the interface our machine needs?

Yes. Our 4.3″ to 10″ vending displays are available with custom interface boards built to your machine’s requirements, or with standard HDMI or LVDS video and USB touch for machines run by an Android or Windows controller.

Tell us about your application. Our US-based engineers will recommend a display, touch and cover glass stack and send samples.
