Anyone can make a display brighter?!

With the increasing use of displays and user interfaces in commercial and consumer applications, there has also been a rapid rise in the demand for solutions in outdoor applications. The advancements in high-performance LEDs have made it easier and more feasible to enhance the brightness of displays compared to previous methods, however, this is just a small aspect of a comprehensive solution. 

When developing an outdoor display solution, it is crucial to account for ambient temperature variations and unwanted sources of heat. IR heat from the sun, heat generated from other devices in the product can greatly affect the reliability of a display.   The long-term effects of UV light on materials should also be taken into consideration. Strategies for actively or passively dissipating heat from the LCD and the enclosure need to be addressed. Opting for lighter colors and backgrounds in the applications will enhance contrast, thereby improving visibility performance.
